How to Create Positive Affirmations for Success

Successful people share one thing in common: they each live by positive affirmations on a daily basis. Affirmations are powerful statements that anyone can use to change their life, improve health, attain prosperity and reach goals. These are based on the natural law of attraction that wealth creation writers and motivational speakers have been talking about for years.

Positive affirmations are closely linked to positive thoughts, which emit energy signals to the universe causing it to respond with the same type of energy. Positive thoughts generate positive events while negative attitudes and feelings attract unfortunate occurrences. Unlike successful people, those who experience failure often carry negative thoughts and attitudes that flow right back to their lives. To reach a goal, a person must be able to learn how to create and use affirmations.

Steps for Creating Positive Affirmations

Become aware: A person’s current state of mind may be dominated by negativity without being aware of it. It’s important to recognize these thoughts before one can go about replacing them with positive ones. Awareness is possible through a period of reflection in quiet surroundings.

Transform statements: Self talk must be gradually adjusted as one becomes aware of the negative thoughts going through the mind. An effective way of replacing negativity is through finding something good in every situation and affirming it.

Say what you want: An affirmation must specify what a person desires to receive and exclude words that relate to things which he does not want. Thus, an affirmation may be: “I am fit and strong for the marathon today.” Avoid saying: “I am free from joint disease and injury to run my marathon.”

Personalize a statement: Belief in an affirmation increases its power to attract similar energies and personalizing it strengthens a person’s belief. An affirmation must be specific and relevant to the person creating it.

Write them down: Repetition is an important step in affirmations which one can do by writing them down in a journal and posting them in conspicuous places that one frequents such as the computer keyboard, bathroom mirror, work cubicle and dashboard. Saying affirmations at various times of the day is also a good way to promote repetition.

Suggested positive affirmations that work are: “Money comes to me easily and frequently” and “Day by day, in every way, I am getting better and better.” With practice and regular tweaking, affirmations can be used deliberately to change aspects of life and gain what one truly wants.
